Save Virtual Care

Access to virtual health care has never been more important than it has for the last two years. The COVID-19 pandemic changed many things, but virtual care for kids allowed Ontario’s children to be diagnosed and cared for by doctors in a safe, efficient, and effective way.

Take Action

Unfortunately, a new agreement between the Ontario Medical Association and the Ontario Government means that families will soon lose access to convenient and effective virtual care options that Canadians in other provinces continue to have. Shouldn’t every Ontario family be able to choose the best care option for their children?

Many physicians want to continue offering virtual healthcare, as they appreciate giving families options, which more than ever include offering online care from the comfort of home.

We want to save virtual care as a choice because we know that it’s a solution for the future of medicine.

  • Through KixCare alone, thousands of patients in Ontario have been seen since just last year.
  • This means thousands of families have been able to have their kids treated quickly without the need to visit a clinic or an ER, while limiting workplace disruptions. Roughly half of these patients didn't have access to a family doctor.
  • Even before COVID-19, the Ontario Government saw virtual healthcare as a tool to end hallway healthcare - let's not go backwards now.

Save Virtual Care in Ontario

The benefits to patients, families, and the healthcare ecosystem are endless. It shouldn’t be the only option, but virtual care should be a choice.
